Quince Players Help The Autism Trust| The Quince Players have a long history of supporting local charities alongside each of their excellent productions. On this occasion Mr Julian Hirst the Director of Alan Bennett’s Habeas Corpus has chosen The Autism Trust to benefit from the proceeds of the September show now being rehearsed.

The Autism Trust is new to the area, the trust itself has been running since 2007 but only last year did they move into their new home the High Street, just along from the Quince Players home in Sunninghill. Polly’s Place is not only their HQ but is a delightful shop full of beautiful crafts and gifts created by the very people The Autism Trust supports. Not only do they raise awareness and funds for this excellent cause, but they offer coaching and training for those youngsters living with Autism Spectrum Disorders enabling them to acquire the skills they need when seeking employment upon leaving school.

Julian is delighted to give The Autism Trust the chance to benefit from this hilarious play currently midway through rehearsals. Habeas Corpus is set in the 1960’s and as such the plot is much to do with ‘the permissive society’ being embraced by many in that decade. As with any really good farce there is much confusion and misunderstanding during the proceedings but it will be entirely clear to the audience that there is nothing funnier that the unexpected antics of the local Doctor, his family and his patients. Alan Bennett’s writing shines out in this cleverly scripted play. As always the Quince Players will bring you a wonderful evening’s theatre.

Show dates are 12th -14th September & 19th- 21st September. Opening Night is Charity Gala Night in aid of The Autism Trust, so please come along and support this new local charity. Box Office opens on 17th August at Sapphire Estate Agents in Sunninghill.
