Last chance for Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale community groups looking after their environment to apply for £1,000 grant!

Is your local community group creating a wildlife pond, planting a hedgerow or making a wildlife garden? Community groups in Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale have until 31st May to apply for a grant to help them do conservation projects that benefit wildlife and people.

The Dorothy Morley Conservation Awards give £1,000 and £500 grants to groups involved with activities that encourage community involvement in environmental projects.

Rhiannon Harrington, Community Wildlife Officer with the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust explains: “We‘re keen to hear from groups that involve their local community in managing a treasured green space.”

Full details about the Dorothy Morley Conservation Awards are on the Wildlife Trust’s website www.bbowt.org.uk. Application packs are also available from the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust, Woolley Firs, Cherry Garden Lane, Maidenhead, SL6 3LJ, or call 01628 829574.

Applications will be accepted up to 31st May, and the winners will be announced in July.   The Awards are a tribute to the memory of dedicated Berkshire conservationist, Dorothy Morley, and are made possible thanks to the generosity of her family.
