Charters School is thrilled to share the fantastic news that six of their Year 13 students have been offered places to study at Oxbridge after their A Level examinations this summer. The four students who have been offered places at Oxford are Jamie and Gracie who will be studying Biochemistry, Dom who will study Italian with Linguistics, and Saffy who will study P.P.E. The two Cambridge offers have been made to Ben who will study mathematics and Eva who will study English.

The students were supported in the application process by their Tutors and subject specialist teachers, and by the school’s Potential High Achievers Programme. Charters has developed strong links with the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford over recent years, and the school’s PHA Programme gives Year 12 students the opportunity to explore the similarities and differences between these two world-leading institutions by visiting individual colleges and taking part in workshops led by visiting academics. Over the past ten years, 43 students from the Sunningdale school have continued their studies at Oxbridge, with many other students obtaining the grades to Veterinary, Medicine and Dentistry courses. The vast majority of students at Charters Sixth Form achieve grades which allow them to pursue further study at Russell Group universities or access prestigious universities around the world, secure apprenticeships or join the world of work.

Ofsted judged that the Sixth Form provision at Charters was 'Outstanding' during their 2023 inspection, and admissions for September 2025 open in October for both internal and external applicants.

The school is immensely proud of the six students who have been offered places to Oxbridge this autumn, as it is of all the well-rounded young adults who attend their Sixth Form.
