Wakeboard, paddleboard and boat were among the ways the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay toured Maidenhead, Eton and Windsor on Wednesday 6th July, bringing the excitement of the Commonwealth Games to the Thames Valley.

Birmingham 2022 is hosting the 16th Queen’s Baton Relay – a journey which brings together and celebrates communities across the Commonwealth during the build-up to the Games commencing on 28 July.

The Queen’s Baton was welcomed in style to the Royal Borough on the morning of Wednesday 6th July, as part of a 25-day tour of English regions.

Along the way, the Baton was carried by inspiring Batonbearers, including para-powerlifter Louise Sugden, of Maidenhead. The Baton was also cheered on by Mini Batonbearers, students from local schools who are taking part in the Schools' Baton Relay later in July.
