Six local students from Brakenhale Academy, Easthampstead Park Community School, Luckley House School, LVS Ascot and Ranelagh School arrived armed with their ingredients ,time schedules and plenty of determination to prove that they could prepare a two course meal for two persons for under £15 .
Under the watchful eyes of two well known local chefs from Bluebells Restaurant , Ascot they competently completed their meals in only one and a half hours .
With only a few marks between them the winner was Jake MacNeill from Luckley House School ,Wokingham .
Jake created an impressive looking and delicious meal of Curried Monkfish with Mussels on a bed of Leek Taglitelli and for dessert a fantastic Toffee Pie. (photo enclosed )
In second place by less than one and a half points was Iluminada Acuna from LVS Ascot .
Lumi served up another fantastic meal comprising of Langoustine and Ricotta Ravioli with Basil Pesto and a Lemon and Basil Glaze . For dessert she made the most perfect Chocolate Profiteroles with a Raspberry Coulis .
The President of Ascot Rotary, Godfrey Skinner presented the winners with a Cup ,shield and Cookery books and every student was presented with a signed Certificate .
Jake was delighted when his family were invited for a complimentary meal at Bluebells Restaurant . Jake will now set his sights even higher for the next Regional Competition .
