Girls at St George’s School, in Ascot are celebrating today after achieving excellent A Level results. Many individual pupils gained outstanding grades as well as entrance to top universities in the UK and overseas with 35% of results graded A*-A, against a national backdrop of 25.5% A*-A.

Pupils have produced stunning results in a variety of academic and vocational subjects, gaining places at a range of prominent destinations from Russell Group universities such as Edinburgh, Bristol, Exeter, Warwick, Newcastle and Nottingham to acclaimed institutions such as RADA, Conde Nast College of Fashion & Design and New York University.  Pupils will go on to read a wide range of courses including Medicine and Surgery, Criminology, Equine Sports Science, Business Management, History, Philosophy, Liberal Arts, Fine Art, Fashion and Acting, truly demonstrating the breadth of a St George’s education.   Particularly impressive results this year were awarded in Fine Art and Photography (both achieving 100% A*), and Politics where two-thirds of girls were awarded A grades, continuing the impressive track record of these departments at St George’s. 

Top marks in the school go to Ruth Taviansky, who was awarded A*, A*, A, B, and Kasey Tang who achieved A*, A*, A.  Other notable performers are Sophie Ross and Fiona Allen who both achieved straight A grades.   Sophie is off to study Medicine and Surgery at Newcastle University and Fiona is off to study Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh.

Head Girl, Camelia Joel Davison achieved academic success alongside many extra-curricular triumphs, whilst providing an invaluable link between staff and pupils over the past year. Camelia achieved A grades in Politics, Geography and Drama and moves on to read Liberal Arts with Study Abroad at the University of Exeter.

At St George’s we believe in encouraging the girls wherever their talents and interests lie.  The range of degrees that our leavers are going on to read this year is remarkable, reflecting the ever-changing landscape of education and employment and the exceptional and individualised guidance they receive at St George’s.  I am excited to see what the future holds for these capable, confident young women”.
