THE LEXICON CHARITY FUND

The Lexicon is delighted to announce the launch of The Lexicon Charity Fund 2019, to  support charitable causes within the borough of Bracknell Forest.

The new fund will be managed in conjunction with Berkshire Community Foundation, an independent charity that connects local people with local causes and projects.

Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says:  “We are hoping to support a number of different charities based in the borough through this new fund.  We are delighted to be running the campaign in conjunction with Berkshire Community Foundation and will be organising a number of events over the next 12 months to help raise money for the fund.”

Jim Fyfe, Philanthropy Director at Berkshire Community Foundation says: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with The Lexicon to support the local Bracknell Community. The Lexicon become part of an increasing number of businesses working with BCF with their Corporate Social Responsibility to address the growing needs that we see in our community. This much needed fund will help support projects in the immediate area of Bracknell where The Lexicon is based and we are looking forward to supporting as many as we can over the coming year.”

Last year The Lexicon supported Bracknell Gymnastics Club through a series of fund raising activities in the town centre and raised a phenomenal £8,000 for the charity.

Dr Peter Tranckle, club manager at Bracknell Gymnastics Club says:  “We were so delighted to be chosen as The Lexicon’s charity of the year for 2018 and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generosity during the past twelve months.    All the money raised has been put to great use, enabling us to purchase some much needed new equipment, develop and train more coaches for the Club and help to fund our gymnasts attending the European TeamGym Championships.”

The Lexicon Charity Fund will award grants to successful applicants twice a year in October 2019 and February 2020.  The maximum grant that can be awarded to any individual charity is £1,000.
