On Monday 17th December, Charters School in Sunningdale hosted the annual A Level Presentation Evening for the students who sat their A Level examinations during the summer.

Their results were some of the highest in the school’s history and the cohort caught up with teachers, family and friends during a drinks reception, which was sponsored by Gracewell of Ascot, prior to the prize-giving where the students received their examination certificates.

Cups and prizes were presented by the guest of honour, Christopher Hehir, an ex-student who left Charters in the 1985 and went on to study Law at Merton College, Oxford. He was appointed as a Crown Court judge in 2015 and sits at Southward Crown Court in central London. He spoke about his mistakes as well as his achievements and stressed to the young people in the audience that ‘every mistake should be treated as an opportunity’.

This year the prestigious Peyton Cup was won by Hannah Heitplatz. The cup is awarded to the student who demonstrates the attributes which the school wishes to instil in its students and personifies Charters School’s motto of Unity, Respect, Excellence.
