Residents, businesses and visitors are being given a month to plan ahead as the Royal Borough announces planned road closures ahead of the royal wedding.

Windsor town centre is expected to be extremely busy on the day as the town welcomes visitors and well-wishers from across the world to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry to Ms Meghan Markle.

To accommodate the large number of expected visitors there will be a series of road closures on Friday 18th May and Saturday 19th May.

The roads will remain closed until Saturday evening and a final decision will be made as to what time the roads can reopen on the day. Residents living inside the road closure area will be permitted to leave during the closures but only emergency services vehicles will be allowed to enter.

There will be one set of road closures from 10pm on Friday 18 May along the procession route:

  • Castle Hill
  • High Street
  • Sheet Street
  • Kings Road
  • Park Street
  • St Albans Street
  • Market Street
  • Queen Charlotte Street
  • Thames Street
  • River Street
  • Brook Street
  • Windsor Greys Roundabout A308 (Peanut roundabout)
  • Albert Road A308

There will be a number of additional closures from 6am on Saturday 19th May:

 Maidenhead Road

  • Clarence Road
  • Alma Road
  • St Leonards Road
  • Frances Road
  • Barry Avenue
  • Datchet Road
