On Tuesday 30th January , Charters School in Sunningdale hosted their annual Careers Fair; held in the Main Hall, the event which was open to Sixth Form students and those in years 9 and 11 was implemented to help students discover the range of opportunities available to them when their time at Charters comes to an end. Over 30 organisations that included a wide range of employers, colleges, universities and training providers were there to advise our students about the different options open to them and explained to students what grade or subject requirements were needed to pursue their chosen career paths.
Jas Dhesi, Subject Leader for Economics said “The day was a great success; students were talking to as many organisations as they possibly could. Year 11 and soon Year 9 will be choosing their options for next year and they are advised to think carefully about their career aspirations and how they are going to reach their goals. Speaking to employers helped pupils identify which subjects they would need to take at GCSE and A Level in order to pursue their chosen career path. Students in years 11 and 13 are also at the stage where they are thinking about jobs, apprenticeships and Further or Higher Education and I really think this event will help our students to make some very important decisions about their future plans.’
The exhibitors included the Romans Estate Agency, The University of Surrey, Thames Valley Police, Waitrose and Dawnus Construction to name a few.
