Ascot Wealth Management (AWM), have announced their recent employee results for exams completed through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). AWM is known in the Industry for their young team of professional advisers and analysts. The forward-thinking company offers a placement scheme for university students, part of which involves an intensive study programme, enabling them to pass RO exams and work towards achieving a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. AWM’s current employees have been working incredibly hard over the last year to pass these exams. All of them have achieved great results with four obtaining their full Diploma. However, one employee stood out amongst the group, Matthew Fagan, a 21-year-old from Reading, whom we believe is the youngest person to have achieved the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the CII.

Matthew is studying for a BA in Business and Marketing degree at the Henley Business School, University of Reading.  Matthew joined the AWM Placement Scheme in June 2016.  Under the AWM study programme for the CII exams, Matthew passed all six exams leading to the Diploma in less than 10 months.

“We are delighted that Matthew Fagan has managed such an incredible achievement of having passed the diploma exams whilst on the AWM Placement Scheme. It is a credit to Matthew’s hard work and commitment both to the job and his personal progression that he has been able to achieve such a feat. It’s great news for him and great news for the Company. We strongly hope that after his degree he will come back to be a Financial Adviser and have a successful career with AWM.”

Mark Insley, Managing Director, AWM.

Not only has Matthew achieved his diploma, he has also been chosen to move to AWM’s South African office to lead a team of 20 graduates through their CII exams in an intensive study programme. The successful students will then become part of AWM’s new business venture, AWM Direct. AWM Direct aims to train qualified Financial Advisers based in Cape Town, South Africa, who will service UK clients via video conference meetings. This is a cutting-edge service which could possibly change the Industry. AWM Direct will target individuals who would normally assume they do not have the wealth to receive the benefits of a Financial Adviser and would be available to a wide market, whether they are someone at university looking to start an ISA or someone slightly older looking to transfer their pension.

AWM is continuing to keep its focus on client needs while at the same time creating an environment for young individuals to become competent and thrive in an increasingly competitive industry.
