‘SHARING THE LOVE’ ON VALENTINE’S DAY | DISTRIBUTING PROFITS FROM THE SUNNINGHILL VICTORIAN STREET FAYRE

On Sunday 20th November last year, the popular Victorian Street Fayre (SEE THE PHOTOS HERE) returned to Sunninghill High Street.  From midday to 4.00pm the High Street was lined with market stalls, selling all sorts of enticing goods, and children’s Fairground rides.  Hot food & drink was plentiful and the High Street retailers were open, offering all their lovely wares and Christmas goodies too.  Father Christmas asked Mother Christmas to help him, as they listened to children’s wishes and the Elves entertained the excited youngsters.  With so much for the whole family to enjoy, it was an afternoon not to be missed.

All profits from the Fayre are distributed to local charities and good causes.  So ‘sharing the love’ on Valentine’s Day, the Parish Council is today delighted to present cheques to:......

Ascot Day Centre (below),

Sebastian’s Action Trust (below),

Windsor Horse Rangers, St Francis School,

Sunningdale Hope Trust, (below)

Sunningdale Bowling Club,  Children with Special Needs, the Guides

and the Scouts (below).

Sunninghill & Ascot Parish Council is grateful for the generous support from Sytner Sunningdale, Ascot Racecourse, Shorts Group and The Sunninghill Trust and many other local sponsors.  Ascot Racecourse graciously hosted the morning of cheque presentations.

RECIPIENTS:

Ascot Day Centre – the Day Centre plays a key part in the organisation of the Street Fayre and funds will go towards its running costs for 2017.

St Francis School – needed assistance to purchase more books for their non-fiction lending library.  The children want books about animals and sport, of which there are very few in the library.

Sunningdale Bowling Club – need a set of four mobile steps to ensure members can access the bowling green safely, now that it has been raised to comply with new regulations.

Windsor Horse Rangers – have been granted planning permission for a new building on the farm.  Funds will go towards its construction.

Sebastian’s Action Trust – assisted in the organising of the Street Fayre for many years and funds will go towards helping families enjoy some special time with their children who suffer life limiting illnesses.

Children with Special Needs – entirely run by volunteers, funds will go directly towards helping children in our Parish.

The Scouts and The Guides – two separate grants to be split between all branches of the Guides and Scouts within our Parish.

The next Parish Community Event will be ‘Party in the Park’ on Sunday 2nd July at the Victory Field. For more information, contact the Parish Office on 01344 630141 or email enquiries@s-a-pc.com.
