The Quince Players  held a charity Gala Opening Night for the 2017 panto - Jack & the Beanstalk(written by Ben Crocker and directed by Julie Voice and Sarah Matthews) on Thursday January 13th.

Chairman of the Cordes Hall Committee - Jane Richardson, thanked Chairman of the Quince Players - Andrew Darling for nominating the Cordes Hall improvements as their nominated charity (example pictured above). Work is already well under way and the Hall already boasts new lighting and stage front, as well as elegant toilets (pictured above). The Cordes Hall is a much loved local facility - home to the Quince Players, the monthly cinema for children and adults, the massive rug sale and many one offs and regular exercise classes. But it's over a hundred years old and in need of tlc.  The new facilities are already a huge improvement, securing its fututre as a major entertainment hub.

Mr. Darling thanked several further organisations for their generous donations - including the Doris Cowdray Trust and the Hope Trust.

After a very successful opening night, enjoyed by all, Mr. Darling praised the cast and crew for their triumph and three months' hard work. He reminded the audience to tell their friends to book a ticket. But don't delay; there are only 80 seats left for the whole two week run!
