The pupils, teachers, parents and governors of St Francis Catholic Primary School gathered to give a great send off to their departing Headteacher, Jane Gow who has been appointed Vice Principal (Prep) of The Marist School.

Mrs Gow left the South Ascot school at the end of term, after seven years. “It was a lovely day” she said. “Although I am excited by the new challenge it was a wrench to leave St Francis and all the people there. I will have wonderful memories to take with me.”

Stephen Poulston chair of governors, said “Jane has driven improvements in all areas which led to our outstanding judgement at the last OFSTED inspection. Through her leadership we have also become a Teaching School, which together with other local and Diocesan collaborations, has contributed to school improvements not only at St Francis, but in the wider community of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Portsmouth Diocese.”

One of Mrs Gow’s last tasks was to hand over to her successor. The acting Headteacher will be Mrs Caroline Johnson.
