RBWM is funding FREE business advice sessions for Royal Borough businesses with fewer than 50 employees and that have been trading for at least 12 months.
The sessions are delivered by the Berkshire Business Growth Hub which works with many Berkshire businesses looking to grow. The tailored advice sessions run in Windsor and Maidenhead.
Cllr Jack Rankin, cabinet member for economic development and property, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for any local small business ambitious for growth.”
The Growth Hub provides advice and guidance on strategic planning, marketing and finance to scale up.
Cllr Rankin added: “This is an exciting time in the Royal Borough with more than £1 billion of investment planned in our town centres over the next few years.
“We are working alongside the existing business community to grow the local economy. We want to support businesses that can then benefit from and contribute to our expanding and vibrant economy.”
One of the first businesses to take advantage of the business advice sessions was Countrywide Pest Management, based in Newbury. They contacted the Growth Hub in 2015 when the company had reached a plateau, asking for advice on how to take the business forward.
The company received a package of tailored coaching and attended the Growth Hub's Berkshire Business Accelerator course, an intensive three-day course at the prestigious Henley Business School, designed to quicken and maximise business growth.
Philip Halpin, founder and managing director, said: “The Berkshire Business Accelerator course was absolutely fantastic, just brilliant. It really helped me focus on the route I needed to take my business forward. As a result of Growth Hub help I am now looking to take on another full-time technician in June.”
