Charters School pupil and staff have achieved another excellent set of GCSE results this year despite the national decline in GCSE results.

245 students completed GCSEs.

Overall 78% achieved A*-C grades in English and Mathematics combined; Overall the school ‘Attainment 8’ fine grade was B-. ;Overall the school ‘Progress 8’ score was 0.43 – this was calculated using 2015 national data.

Co-headteachers Richard Pilgrim and Martyn Parker said: We are very pleased with these results as they provide a true reflection of the hard work of both students and staff. Against a backdrop of continual educational change we are delighted that 82.8% of all examination entries gained grades A*-C and 36.5% of entries were graded A*/A. This means that the pupils have given themselves the best opportunity for their future whether they join the sixth form or take up a college course or gain employment with training.

Charters student Connor Jackson said: “I am very pleased with my results and over-achieved, particularly in the Science subjects. The hard work was all worthwhile and I am grateful for the support of my teachers.”
