On Tuesday 12th July, Year 8 students at Charters School in Sunningdale welcomed performers from Theatre Pie into their assembly to discuss how to plan and choose their option choices which start next Year in Year 9.

Through a lively combination of drama, comedy, music and dance the students explored the variety of options available to them and learnt where to find help, support and guidance.

Liam Harvey, one of the performers from Theatre Pie explained that, “It is never too soon to plan. We encourage students to think about their choices early so that they make the right decisions for their future.”

Mr John Walker, Head of Year for Year 8 said, “The performers made the whole process of options choices much more real and immediate. They also illustrated how the choices the students make in Year 9 will have an effect on their post-16 learning. The colourful, vibrant and varied show was a great start to the whole options process for Year 8.”

Whether students choose vocational learning, higher education or seek employment with training after their time at Charters, the school hopes every student has the information to help them make informed choices.
