WORKS COMMENCE TO REVIVE THE BULL | Construction works to commence the revival and extension to The Bull public house in Bracknell town centre have now started.

In the first step of the transformation, the single-storey extension at the back of the building, which was built as an add-on to the original structure, is in the process of being removed.

The removal of this section will pave the way for a new 3,000 sq ft modern timber frame extension, providing a visual and physical link between the historic building and the new town centre. In addition, works to the existing building have now started.

 

Simon Russian, Development Manager for Legal & General on behalf of the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, comments:  “Our vision for The Bull is to restore the main building to its former glory whilst adding a modern twist with the new extension. In order to do this we need to remove the current extension. We are confident that the combination of old and new will offer a different experience when it opens as part of The Lexicon.

“We have received a high level of interest from potential occupiers and will be announcing further news in the coming months.”

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, said “With all lettings on Eagle Lane recently completed, there couldn’t be a better time to start work on The Bull and breathe new life into this much loved building.

“Residents will be able to see the new building taking shape over the coming months in anticipation of the new occupiers moving in next year. It will be a welcome edition to the town centre and we hope will be a popular place for people in the borough to socialise and relax.”
