Charters School  in Sunningdale has applied to RBWM for funding to install a series of recycling bins throughout the school. With just under 2000 people on site during the school day, the school is increasingly concerned with the amount of waste that is simply thrown into rubbish bins. The Sustainability Co-ordinator at Charters appoints leaders from throughout the student body to ensure that all members of the school community are engaged with environmental issues, but know more could be done.

RBWM runs a scheme called Participatory Budgeting, which allows residents to decide how to allocate public funding for the benefit of the local community. It encourages state funded schools and school groups to submit projects which will benefit their school its community. Charters has applied to this scheme to fund the recycling bins, however there are only two weeks remaining for the public to vote. The school is hoping that the community will back the application and vote via https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WWZ9G9P before the deadline at midday on 30th June.
