Lauren Smith, who is a Year 8 student at Charters School  in Sunningdale, has won a prestigious art competition. Over 700 students from schools across the country entered the competition, run by Booked Magazine, to design a rugby ball. A Premiership Rugby representative picked the winning ball design and Lauren won 30 tickets for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham Stadium. Gilbert are also applying the winning design to a rugby ball, which will be delivered to her door!

Lauren said, “I can’t believe I have won and I’m really excited about going to Twickenham to see the rugby.”

Miss Cat Bowie, an Art Teacher at Charters said, ““We never dreamed one of our students would win the national competition. It really is an incredible achievement for Lauren and the standard of artwork produced by all of our students was inspirational. We were also thrilled to have another 4 Charters students selected to be on the top twenty shortlist, which, from over 700 national entries, is simply astounding.”
