Mrs. Margaret Morgan, who lives in Ascot, co-chair of the Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale Neighbourhood Plan Delivery Group, has been made MBE for services to community.

Mrs Morgan  spearheaded community involvement in the Neighbourhood Plan which  involved years of co ordinating working parties, liaising with stakeholders, public meetings and writing the Plan, as well as taking it through all the stages of consultation, modification and finally the Referendum.

As a result of Mrs Morgan and her team’s work, a local referendum was held on 27th March 2014 . The result was  a 91% vote in favour of adopting  the Neighbourhood Plan - now the first layer of the development policies for the Borough.

Cllr Burbage  of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, said: "I am delighted for  Margaret. Margaret’s years of preparation in the Neighbourhood Plan and consultation with other local residents meant that an overwhelming majority voted decisively in favour of the Plan. To achieve such a consensus is no easy feat. These are really well deserved honours. Congratulations Karnail and Margret!”
