Chapmans The Ironmongers in Sunninghill is celebrating 120 years of continuous trading on the same site during 2015.The shop is a landmark in the area with people travelling miles to visit.

 Since 1895 when an original part of the current premises sold traditional ironmongery this independent family business has grown and progressed into what many customers call “An Aladdin’s cave”.

Originally run by the Chapman family the current owner Robert Ellison is celebrating 35 years running the business, and   has shaped the business into the success it has become today .It offers traditional type of service whilst keeping up to date with current trends and 21st century needs. It now offers a wide range of cookware, electrical products a water softening salt delivery service as well as the core products associated with the ironmongery and hardware trade.

Robert is helped in the shop by his family and a friendly, efficient band of staff. In 2003 he extended the shop bringing it more up to date and enabling the business to offer a wider more attractive range of products taking it straight from the 19 century into the 21st. The business has been a great success and is held in high affection by local residents.

Chapman’s is situated on the High Street in Sunninghill which incorporates Chapman’s Courtyard. This now houses Inspirations Gift shop, Sunninghill Play Centre, Treacle Café, photographers Artis Studio and The Stock Exchange Dress Agency.
