Windsor ABC Bicycle Greenway  A petition has been launched to  ask The Crown Estate to permit access for a cycle route through their land, to create a Greenway Leisure route from Crowthorne through to Windsor via Ascot.

As the biggest landowners in the area, the petition urges the Crown Estate to provide a safe cycle route through their land, for families and children wishing to cycle from Windsor Castle to Ascot, Bracknell (The Lookout) and Crowthorne (Windsor ABC).

The petitioners feel this is important as there is currently no safe link for leisure cyclists who would like to travel between the towns of Windsor, Ascot, Bracknell and Crowthorne. It is also also quite difficult to get from Windsor to Ascot via public transport.
The Windsor ABC Bicycle Greenway would provide safe routes for new cyclists to use in the local area. It would encourage families and leisure cyclists to get outside and enjoy their community.
In addition school students need safer cycle routes to and from school. Schools adjacent to Windsor ABC Bicycle Greenway could reduce traffic congestion by incorporating the Greenway into their school cycle routes.
The Windsor ABC Bicycle Greenway will enhance cycle safety, reduce local congestion, protect local biodiversity and support local businesses. To sign CLICK ON THE PETITION.
